Our centers of excellence and labs are supported by industry and embraced by those who are passionate about staying current in these ever-changing fields. Professionals already working in the nation’s homeland security workforce who need certifications, those educating our youngest minds, plus students preparing for careers— all turn to us to show them the future.

Centers, education for life

From helping students in K-12 develop a love of everything STEM, to training college students in a virtual satellite environment, to providing technical certificates for working professionals—our centers partner with industry to provide up-to-date information.

Center for Cybersecurity Research and Analysis (CCRA)

The Center for Cybersecurity Research and Analysis serves as the university hub for training, research, analysis, and programming in all things cybersecurity. Gain access to free training, networking forums, internship and career opportunities, and much more. 

STEM Outreach Center

This center provides hands-on education and workforce development experiences for students in K-12, community colleges, colleges or universities and those who support them in achieving leadership careers in the STEM fields.

Security Operations Center (SOC)

This center is the facility that houses our information security team responsible for monitoring and analyzing Capitol’s security posture on an ongoing basis.

Space Flight Operations Training Center (SFOTC)

What’s it like to control a NASA flight mission? Enter this center and find out.  You’ll use actual spacecraft software to control virtual satellites, replicating the scenarios you would face on the job. 

Center for Women in Cyber (CWC)

The Center for Women in Cyber (CWC) empowers women of all ages to pursue cyber careers. Through presentations, hands-on activities and mentoring, the CWC community provides direction, encouragement, and support to the next generation of cyber leaders.

Critical Infrastructure Center (CIC)

Capitol Technology University is the first university to educate students in degree areas combining operations training of critical infrastructure facilities; critical operational technology (OT) which can be vulnerable to cyber attacks; the industrial internet of things (IIOT); and the cybersecurity needed to protect these facilities.

ALPHA Observatory

The ALPHA Observatory is a unique asset to our Astronautical Engineering Program students. Located on-campus, ALPHA offers students hands-on experience with observatory equipment and space research operations.

Center of Academic Safety Excellence (CASE)

The Center of Academic Safety Excellence (CASE) is focused on equipping future safety professionals with the academic and practical mastery to pursue lucrative careers in occupational health and safety. 

Center of Excellence in Construction Management (CECM)

The Center of Excellence in Construction Management (CECM) is committed to preparing a new generation of leaders and innovators in the field of construction management by focusing on developing practical skills, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration, and fostering industry partnerships.

AI Center of Excellence (AICE)

At the AI Center of Excellence (AICE) at Capitol Technology University, we are dedicated to advancing the frontiers of artificial intelligence through innovative research, education, and industry collaboration. We aim to foster a dynamic ecosystem that empowers students, faculty, and industry partners to explore, innovate, and apply cutting-edge AI technologies for societal impact.

Labs, a place to experiment and innovate

Six unique labs and an esports arena serve as a playground where you can join student competitions, test products, solve problems, evaluate software and watch ideas come to life. Work on student-created, student-led projects and ignite your research potential.

Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab

In the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab you will have the opportunity to engage in cutting-edge applied computer science projects including applied artificial intelligence and machine learning projects utilizing real-world datasets and innovative predictive problems.

Cyber Lab

Defeat simulated cyberattacks in our Cyber Lab. This lab has an advisory board with members from corporations such as Lockheed Martin and SAIC, as well as other universities such as Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and the University of Maryland.

Digital Forensic Lab

Learn how to recover digital evidence or data from mobile devices under forensically sound conditions. You’ll put classroom knowledge to work as you work on malware evaluation and the security aspects of telematics, IoT and critical infrastructure.

Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (ICAM) Lab

Get hands-on experience with security, access information assurance, privacy issues as outlined in the federal and corporate identity, plus credential and access management standards.

Fusion Lab

Collaborate with other students and use multiple 3-D printers, a 1.4-watt laser and computers pre-loaded with modeling software to work on picosatellite shell development and creation, high altitude balloon payload projects and other activities.

Computational and Unmanned and Autonomous Systems Lab 

Get hands-on experience working with students from other disciplines and industry practitioners to apply avionics, sensors, and other payloads to various platforms including surface and sub-surface vehicles. You’ll develop necessary skills to solve real-world problems.

Take a break from academics and explore your competitive side in our expansive Chargers Esports Arena! Whether you’re just looking for a quick game of Smash Bros. to unwind between classes or you want to join a more serious PC gaming squad for regular competitive play, the Chargers Esports program will lead every player to a win.
