Educational Objectives:
1. Students will be able to plan for the employment of the major types, groups, and categories of Robotics and Mechatronics Systems.
2. Students will be able demonstrate all aspects of the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Technology design and development process.
3. Students will be able to analyze Mechatronics and Robotics systems and optimize those systems.
4. Students will be able to compare, contrast and employ the different types of Mechatronics and Robotics Systems.
5. Students will be able to manage, implement, and operate Mechatronics and Robotics Systems in the most effective and efficient manner.
6. Students will be to recognize the legal and ethical considerations for specific types of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Technology operations and demonstrate appropriate actions.
7. Students will be able to pursue careers in design, development, analysis, implementation, operation, optimization and management of Mechatronics and Robotics Systems and to lead projects as required.
8. Students engage in self-directed continuing professional development, and join a professional society, such as ASME, SAE. SME. ASEE, IEEE, etc.
Learning Outcomes:

Upon graduation:
1. Graduates will be able to analyze the fundamentals of Mechatronics and Robotics Systems, including the technological, social, environmental, and political aspects of the system to examine, compare, analyze and recommend conclusions.
2. Graduates will be able to compare and contrast current Mechatronics and Robotics Systems issues, identify contributing factors, and formulate strategies to address or further investigate.
3. Graduates will be to evaluate and recommend the incorporation of new technologies, methods, processes, or concepts with current Mechatronics and Robotics Systems applications, management practices, or operational policies.
4. Graduates will be able to critically justify and validate Mechatronics and Robotics Systems design configurations to support safe, efficient, and effective operations in applicable, including assessing appropriateness of major elemental components, evaluating limitations and constraints, formulating theory of operation, and supporting the perceived need.
5. Graduates will be able to effectively communicate concepts, designs, theories, and supporting material with others in the Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Technology field.
6. Graduates will be able to investigate current Mechatronics and Robotics Systems problems, complete a thorough review of the issue, formulate hypotheses; collect and appropriately analyze data, interpret the findings, and provide a report to others in the field.
7. Graduates will be able to improve the field of Mechatronics systems and provide solutions to Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Technology challenges.
You will get a job after graduating from Capitol Technology University – we guarantee it. The Capitol Commitment is our promise to any qualified bachelor’s degree graduate–if you don’t find a job in your field within 90 days of commencement, the University will provide up to 36 additional undergraduate credits — tuition free — while you continue your job search.

Our second promise, the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), ensures that first time freshman graduates who don’t earn at least a $50,000 salary within 18 months of graduating will receive additional credits to expand their education.

What is LRAP? The LRAP provides a financial safety net that allows students to focus on their academics while in school, and if the student’s income after graduation is modest, assists the graduate to repay their loans. Alternative Educational Loans and parent PLUS loans are also covered by this program based on the graduate’s income.

Here is how LRAP works: Students must attend and graduate from Capitol Tech. After graduation they must work at least three-quarter time (30 hours per week) to receive assistance. If the graduate’s income is below $50,000 per year, the graduate (and their parents) can receive loan repayment assistance in the form of quarterly reimbursements on their student loans.

We believe students who carried an additional course load in high school should earn credit for their efforts. Here is how to determine if you qualify for credit:

Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
Any PLTW course with a grade of C or higher will transfer. The number of transfer credits for each course depends on its content and length of its delivery (e.g. contact hours).
Advanced Placement Tests
Students who score a 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement test will receive credit. Contact your high school counselor for more information.
International Baccalaureate Courses
Capitol awards credit for selected IB courses. Students who score 5 or higher on select IB courses will receive credit. See Capitol admissions representative for specifics.
