Computational And Unmanned & Autonomous Systems Lab

Quantum Computing Lab

Our Quantum Computing and Cryptology Research Lab coordinates research at Capitol Technology University, stimulating meaningful exchange between faculty, students, and community partners. Current research topics include lattice-based algorithms for post-quantum computing, quantum information theory and more. Become part of the emerging field of quantum computing that experts see as key to the future.

Space Flight Operations Training Center

Learn how to plan, conduct, and manage a spacecraft mission in our Space Flight Operations Training Center (SFOTC). The center provides a comprehensive platform developed in partnership with The Hammers Company for real-time training in a virtual satellite environment replicating real-world mission control. The SFOTC is one of the most sophisticated training environments available today and an invaluable resource for future space engineers.

Mechatronics & Robotics Lab

Want to know how robots can serve you right now? Capitol Tech offers an unlimited number of renewable Robotics Scholarships and is among the nation’s TOP FIVE most generous institutions for FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics scholarships. We have a fully equipped mechatronics and robotics lab where you can build and refine your creation with our robotics club and competition team.

Cyber Battle Lab

One of the biggest threats to cyber terrorists today is the expertise cyber students gain at our Cyber Battle Lab (CBL), one of the leading programs for cybersecurity education in Maryland. Here, the latest hacker attacks and strategies are simulated, analyzed, and solved. The lab is also the training ground for our cyber team that competes on a national level against colleges and universities around the country. If you’re ready for real-world cyber battle action, the CBL is where you need to be.

Fusion Lab

While the Fusion Lab is a space that is run by students of all majors, it is a special hub for Astronautical Engineering (AE) students. They work on individual projects, club and contest challenges, as well as high-altitude balloons and CubeSat payloads. The lab also hosts AE-related student organizations such as the Model Rocketry Club. The lab embodies the AE Department’s philosophy of having projects be student-run and student-led. Experience the open and welcoming atmosphere that allows for multidisciplinary “fusion” projects.

Computational And Unmanned & Autonomous Systems Lab

From search and rescue operations to agriculture and retail, drones and other unmanned autonomous systems (UAS) are revolutionizing the way we live. In Capitol Tech’s Computational and Unmanned and Autonomous Systems Lab, you will have the opportunity to explore the multitude of UAS applications and even devise new ones. You’ll practice UAS programming and use guidance, navigation, and control technology to carry out a wide variety of missions.Through projects at the lab, you’ll work closely with industry partners as they research autonomous technology and investigate future uses.

You will get a job after graduating from Capitol Technology University – we guarantee it. The Capitol Commitment is our promise to any qualified bachelor’s degree graduate–if you don’t find a job in your field within 90 days of commencement, the University will provide up to 36 additional undergraduate credits — tuition free — while you continue your job search.

Our second promise, the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP), ensures that first time freshman graduates who don’t earn at least a $50,000 salary within 18 months of graduating will receive additional credits to expand their education.

What is LRAP? The LRAP provides a financial safety net that allows students to focus on their academics while in school, and if the student’s income after graduation is modest, assists the graduate to repay their loans. Alternative Educational Loans and parent PLUS loans are also covered by this program based on the graduate’s income.

Here is how LRAP works: Students must attend and graduate from Capitol Tech. After graduation they must work at least three-quarter time (30 hours per week) to receive assistance. If the graduate’s income is below $50,000 per year, the graduate (and their parents) can receive loan repayment assistance in the form of quarterly reimbursements on their student loans.

LRAP is free to you. Capitol offers this program along with its Capitol Commitment because Capitol is confident you will succeed upon graduating and will earn at least $50,000 within 18 months. For more information and to apply, contact your admissions counselor at admissions@captechu.edu
We believe students who carried an additional course load in high school should earn credit for their efforts. Here is how to determine if you qualify for credit:

Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
Any PLTW course with a grade of C or higher will transfer. The number of transfer credits for each course depends on its content and length of its delivery (e.g. contact hours).
Advanced Placement Tests
Students who score a 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement test will receive credit. Contact your high school counselor for more information.
International Baccalaureate Courses
Capitol awards credit for selected IB courses. Students who score 5 or higher on select IB courses will receive credit. See Capitol admissions representative for specifics.
