What I've learned from working with Capitol students: Our students exemplify the university motto - "Find a way or make one."

My advice to someone applying for financial aid: The Financial Aid philosophy is that everyone qualifies for some type of financial aid whether it’s scholarships, grants or loans.  The key is to apply early and often. Do not assume you don’t qualify.  There is scholarship money for red-heads, left-handed individuals, STEM, veterans, career changers and my favorite, broccoli lovers.  Every year hundreds of thousands of dollars go unused in scholarship aid because students do not apply.  So apply and apply and apply. Search the internet, use the scholarship links and the “How to apply for Scholarships” packet prepared by the Financial Aid team.  Follow us on Facebook and read the What’s New on the MyCapitol financial aid page for upcoming scholarships.

What I love most about working at Capitol: Capitol Tech is a diverse, inclusive and open community where everyone knows your name, is free to be themselves, and genuinely wants to help each other.  Watching our students grow and mature personally, academically and professionally is most rewarding.  There is nothing better than helping others attain their educational goal that leads them to their long term personal and professional goals.
