Mohamed Abaza, PE is an adjunct faculty member in Mechatronics and Robotics at Capitol Technology University, bringing over 25 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, energy systems, automation, and complex engineered systems. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the New York Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering. Dr. Abaza is a licensed Professional Engineer in Maryland and holds multiple advanced certifications, including Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP), Green Building Engineer (GBE), and Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP).

In industry, Prof. Abaza has led and executed large-scale engineering projects across commercial, healthcare, aerospace, federal, and industrial facilities, with deep expertise in mechatronic systems integration, control systems, sensors and actuators, central plant design, automation, and system optimization. He currently serves as Vice President of Commissioning and Sustainability Services at Allen + Shariff, where he provides technical leadership in advanced engineering systems, energy optimization, and performance-driven design.

At Capitol Technology University, Prof. Abaza contributes his extensive real-world engineering experience to support hands-on, systems-oriented learning in mechatronics and robotics, emphasizing applied problem solving, interdisciplinary integration, and industry-relevant design practices.
