Capitol Technology welcomes the Prince George’s County Maryland Government Office of Information Technology (OIT), in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), to host a cyber hackathon on Friday, September 18 on Capitol Tech’s campus in Laurel, Maryland.
The event will bring together students, community members, businesses, and tech enthusiasts for a day of hands-on innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving focused on creating practical cybersecurity solutions for Prince George’s County.
People interested in helping build stronger, smarter, and more cybersecure communities, as well as organizations and businesses seeking to become more cyber-aware, are invited to come explore more traditional cybersecurity techniques along with emerging technologies like artificial intelligence while working collaboratively to understand the real-world challenges facing the county.
Throughout the day, participants will work together on solutions designed to improve Prince George’s County cyber infrastructure, explore cutting-edge technologies offered on Capitol Tech’s campus such as the Cyber Lab and new AI Lab, and take part in a mini hackathon challenge. The event aims to foster new ideas and networks that can create meaningful local impact.
The Prince George’s County Hackathon represents a collaborative effort between government, higher education, and industry to demonstrate how tech solutions can be applied to real community needs—and how residents can help make an impact.
