A Veteran's Day Message from Suzanne Hall, Col, USAF (Ret.)

In a special letter to our veterans, Adjunct Professor of Aviation, Suzanne Hall, Col, USAF (Ret.), shares the gratitude that Capitol Tech has for our military community. We deeply appreciate your service and sacrifices, and we honor every individual who has bravely defended our Nation this Veterans Day.

Dear Active-Duty and Veteran Service Members of our Capitol Tech Community,

It is an honor to write this letter recognizing your dedicated service to our country. Veterans Day is special because it honors the sacrifice, courage, and dedication of those who have served.

This day traces its roots to 107 years ago on November 11, 1918, when the Armistice to end World War I was signed and took effect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The Allies chose this time so that people would easily remember this important day. And it worked.

As veterans, we come from a culture that is rarely found in civilian life. We have learned how important it is to look out for each other. We discover how we are family with our brothers and sisters in arms, through our shared experiences, accomplishments, and hardships. We’ve missed special occasions—from the birth of a child to anniversaries to holidays to soccer games—moments that are far too many to name. We also celebrate the resilience and milestones that define our service and lives. When we meet someone who has served, no matter the branch, we have an instant connection. At Capitol Technology University, we shine as outstanding students, faculty, and members of the administration. Veterans are unique because we share these experiences many don’t find in other careers—and we bring those experiences to everything we achieve.

Capitol Tech acknowledges and honors our culture and our sacrifice and appreciates all that we bring to the university community. On behalf of your fellow veterans and Capitol Technology University, we thank you for your service.
