Conference Report on AFCEA/INSA Intelligence and National Security 2025 Summit

Dr. Joshua Sinai, Professor of Practice Intelligence and Global Security Studies at Capitol Technology University, has published a conference report on the AFCEA/INSA 2025 Intelligence & National Security Summit held September 18-19 at the National Harbor in Maryland.

The Armed Forces Communications & Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the Intelligence & National Security Association (INSA) host this annual conference that draws over 2,000 attendees to bring together exhibitors and panelists to discuss innovations, challenges, and topics in these security sectors.

As part of his leadership in management, curriculum development, and instruction for Capitol Tech’s undergraduate and graduate programs in Intelligence and Global Security Studies, Dr. Joshua Sinai regularly attends and reports on professional conferences and exhibitions across the DC–Baltimore region, focusing on emerging government and industry trends. In his role as a contributing writer for the quarterly Journal of Counterterrorism & Homeland Security International, his conference reports and analyses are published and made accessible to the public.

Dr. Sinai notes that amongst the topics presented at the AFCEA/INSA Summit, “of special interest were the latest technologies that covered fields such as artificial intelligence, counterintelligence, cybersecurity, data management & analytics, intelligence software, investigative solutions, security threat monitoring technologies, and surveillance technologies.”

Focusing on more than 30 exhibitors, Dr. Sinai’s report provides a unique perspective on the conference, highlighting “significant private sector intelligence companies and organizations that displayed their latest technological innovations and services.” He underscores that exhibitors are just as integral to the conference as the speakers, noting that engaging with them can foster valuable networking and exchange of knowledge opportunities.
