Capitol Technology University’s Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering program prepares students for professional careers and advanced study in the design, development, manufacturing, testing, and operation of aerospace systems. This degree combines rigorous engineering education with hands-on experience in aerospace systems design, modeling, and simulation.

Students will study atmospheric and space flight systems with engineering fundamentals in propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, orbital mechanics, electronics, and control systems. Through laboratory experimentation, simulation projects, and a senior design capstone project, they will graduate ready to solve real-world aerospace challenges.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS, 2024), employment across engineering occupations is projected to grow about 6% between 2023 and 2033, faster than the average for all occupations. Hands-On Lab Experience

Students engage in hands-on laboratory and project-based learning using modern instructional laboratories that support experimental testing, data collection, analysis, and computational modeling. These facilities reinforce classroom instruction and provide applied learning experiences aligned with professional practices.

High-Tech Facilities and Labs

You’ll be able to take advantage of opportunities to gain hands-on experience on our state-of-the-art campus with our flight simulators and VR aviation immersion lab. 

Space Flight Operations Training Center

The Space Flight Operations Training Center (SFOTC) provides a hands-on opportunity to learn the skills associated with evaluating spacecraft data and controlling and troubleshooting spacecraft issues in a virtual environment that is identical to the environment used in industry. The SFOTC is used as a laboratory environment for many core ASE classes, as it's training replicates real-life scenarios and teaches the intricacies of spacecraft development, operations, and data analysis​​.

High-Altitude Balloon Launch

Collaborate with fellow students to develop and test high-altitude sensors and instruments, design structures to house these instruments, and analyze the data collected from the high-altitude balloon launch. All majors are welcome!

Sub-Orbital Flights

Opportunity to work on payloads that will be launched on orbital or sub-orbital flights.
