Capitol Technology University is proud to announce our membership with the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT) as an Executive Circle Member, reinforcing our commitment to workforce development, industry engagement, and student success across Maryland.
As a leader in STEM education, Capitol Tech is dedicated to preparing students for successful careers in high-demand fields, including cybersecurity, engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, aviation, and business. Within the Executive Circle membership, Dr. Bradford L. Sims, President of Capitol Tech, will serve on the MBRT's Board of Directors, and Dr. Bill Butler, Vice President of Cyber Science Outreach and Partnerships, will serve on the Steering Committee. By joining the MBRT, Capitol Tech will collaborate with public leaders and fellow members to support workforce readiness initiatives, promote STEM education, strengthen employer engagement, and help address the growing demand for skilled professionals across critical industries.
The MBRT is a statewide nonprofit organization that brings together business, education, and community leaders to improve student outcomes and ensure Maryland's future workforce is equipped to succeed in a rapidly evolving economy. Since 2005, MBRT and its Maryland Scholars Speaker Bureau have positively impacted thousands of middle and high school students across Maryland by connecting education with career exploration and job opportunities.
Initiatives like MBRT's Next Generation Scholars program provides students with career coaching, mentorship, and college-access resources. Since 2017, this program has supported more than 450 graduates in securing nearly $4 million in financial aid while improving student engagement, attendance, and academic outcomes—helping prepare Maryland's future workforce for success in college and high-demand careers.
Capitol Tech was recently recognized for delivering the strongest career outcomes among Maryland colleges and universities. According to a ten-year analysis conducted by the Maryland Longitudinal Data System Center (MLDSC), Capitol Tech graduates earn the highest salaries in the state across every degree level when compared to graduates from other Maryland institutions. The findings, published through the Maryland College Labor and Wage Explorer (MD-CLaWE), track workforce participation and earnings for Maryland college graduates employed within the state, highlighting Capitol Tech's success in preparing students for high-demand, high-paying careers.
Through strategic partnerships and innovative programs, the missions of both MBRT and Capitol Tech align—to connect educational experiences with real-world career opportunities leading to success.
