On the Rise with a CAPITOL “P”: PhD, that is

November 5, 2019

By Michael Fain, Ph.D., Director of Doctoral Programs

Dr Fain

In recognition of National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) being observed November 4-8, we want to take time to bring awareness and highlight the thirteen doctoral programs which include a combination of Ph.D. programs as well as the thirteen master’s degree programs offered at Capitol Technological University. NDLW was established to generate greater awareness and appreciation for distance learning while recognizing leaders and best practices in the field. Recognizing the importance of the online learning experience, the university established a business partnership with the Maryland Distance Learning Network in the 1990s.

Capitol Technology University has laid the foundation for world-class online teaching. Assembled faculty provide clear milestones that ensure each candidate receives the support necessary to adequately prepare for the successful development and defense of their dissertation. Capitol prides itself on providing online programs tailored to advance professionals aspiring to leadership roles in academia, industry, and government after earning their PhDs or Master’s degrees at the university.

Since Capitol launched its first doctoral program in information assurance a decade ago, more than 130 alumni of the program have risen as industry leaders in their chosen careers. Our programs have been tailored to support the development of high-level critical thinking, leadership and technical skills, and contribute innovative and practical doctoral research to a student's chosen body of knowledge. We are proud to boast that we have prepared and graduated students from diverse backgrounds who have pursued and achieved success in a myriad of academic careers. We attribute our rapid growth and success of these programs to the exceptional faculty at the university.

To celebrate this achievement and honor our 10-year anniversary, Capitol Technology will host a series of special events next year.  The highlight of the 10 year anniversary is a black-tie gala that will take place during the spring semester. This celebration will give us an opportunity to celebrate our doctoral alums, current doctoral students and faculty who have helped shape the doctoral learning experience for our students.  We will share more during the upcoming months
