Dr. Ilia Kolochenko is a Swiss cybersecurity and cyber law expert. He has over 15 years of experience in information security auditing, incident response and digital forensics.

He is the Chief Architect and CEO of ImmuniWeb, a global application security company headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. As a lawyer admitted to the D.C. Bar, Dr. Kolochenko is also a Partner and Cybersecurity Practice Lead at Platt Law LLP, a law firm with offices in New York and Washington. His legal practice is focused on complex questions of privacy and data protection law, data breach response and cybercrime investigation.

Dr. Kolochenko is a Member of Europol Data Protection Experts Network (EDEN) and of INTERPOL Digital Forensics Expert Group (DFEG), a ember of GIAC Advisory Board and SANS CISO Network, a Committee Member at Boston University MET CIC (Cybercrime Investigation & Cybersecurity) Center.

He is a Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP) at the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and a Fellow at the European Law Institute (ELI). Currently Dr. Ilia Kolochenko is also a Vice-Chair of the Information Security Committee at the American Bar Association (ABA).

Dr. Ilia Kolochenko has authored over 60 articles on cybersecurity and cybercrime investigation for leading cybersecurity magazines including CSO Online, Dark Reading and SC Media, as well as Forbes, and was awarded the SC Media Reboot Leadership Award for Thought Leadership. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Capitol Technology University. As an Adjunct Professor, Dr. Kolochenko is the dissertation chair for cybersecurity & cyber law topics and performs examinations of work at the doctoral level.

When he is not teaching, he enjoys studying, working, and spending quality time with his family. Dr. Kolochenko offers this simple advice to his students: “Work very hard. Keep going. Try harder.”
