FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laurel, MD—Capitol Technology University is proud to announce a new transfer partnership with Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) designed to offer AACC students a seamless and affordable path to a four-year Capitol Tech degree.

The agreement establishes two new “Transfer Pathways” designed to help AACC students maximize transferable coursework and ensure degree requirements are met for both programs:

  • AACC’s Computer Science Transfer AS program into Capitol Tech’s BS in Computer Science program

  • AACC’s Information Assurance and Cybersecurity AAS program into Capitol Tech’s BS in Cybersecurity program

Key benefits of the partnership include:

  • Guaranteed Admission: Students who earn an associate’s degree from AACC with a minimum GPA of 2.0 are guaranteed admission to Capitol Tech.

  • Transfer Credit Acceptance: Up to 70 credits earned at AACC will be accepted toward a bachelor’s degree within this pathway program.

  • General Education Requirements Met: Students who complete an associate’s degree at AACC will have fulfilled all general education requirements at Capitol Tech.

  • Application Fee Waivers: Current AACC students and alumni are eligible for undergraduate application fee waivers at Capitol Tech.

  • Scholarship Opportunities: AACC students transferring to Capitol Tech may qualify for a variety of merit-based and transfer scholarships.

  • Cost Savings: Students can save up to $45,200 by completing their associate degree at AACC and finishing their bachelor’s at Capitol Tech (based on tuition costs 2024-25).

“We are excited to expand opportunities for our students through this partnership with Capitol Technology University,” said Dr. Dawn Lindsay, President of Anne Arundel Community College. “These new transfer pathways reflect our shared commitment to student success while providing a clear and affordable route to a four-year degree and sought-after careers in computer science and cybersecurity.”

To support students throughout the process, AACC academic advisors will collaborate closely with students to develop comprehensive academic plans early in their college journey and prior to transfer. Capitol Tech will also provide students with advising tools, resources, and dedicated support to help them successfully navigate their path to a bachelor’s degree.

“We are thrilled to partner with Anne Arundel Community College to create accessible and streamlined pathways for students to achieve their academic and career goals in computer science and cybersecurity,” said Dr. Bradford Sims, President of Capitol Technology University. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to empowering students with the skills and opportunities needed to succeed in high-demand STEM fields.”
