Career Day at Capitol Technology University



Capitol Technology University will host its annual Career Day on Tuesday, September 22. The event is a key part of the university’s career services programs, aimed at helping students successfully launch their professional careers at the time of graduation.

The university guarantees qualified bachelor’s degree graduates job placement in relevant fields at a competitive salary within 90 days of graduation, under the Capitol Technology University Commitment. Attendance at Career Day is among the requirements students must meet in order to qualify.

Held on the Capitol campus in Laurel, MD, the event includes career and professional development workshops.  Activities begin at 9 am in the Avram Gudelsky Memorial Auditorium on the Capitol campus.

“This year we will feature workshops on professional attire, public service opportunities, job and internship search techniques, an Internship HR panel featuring a few 3 letter agencies and other organizations, Security Clearances, and things to know when starting your own business,” said Sarah Alspaw, Assistant Director of Career Services and Graduate Student Support.

Alspaw’s office offers a wide range of resources designed to facilitate the job search, including one-on-one appointments in person, by phone, or over Google Hangouts or Skype. A series of on-campus workshops are also held during the school year, including a busienss etiquette workshop and formal luncheon.

In the spring, Capitol’s annual Career Fair brings employer representatives from around the region to meet with interested students about job opportunities and internships.  

As stipulated by the Capitol Technology University Committment, the institution "guarantees its qualified bachelor's degree graduates placement in the field of engineering, engineering technology, computer sciences, information technology, or business within 90 days of graduation,or Capitol Technology University wiill provide up to 38 additional undergraduate credits free while students continue their job search."

The committment is open  to all full-time undergraduate students (US citizens or permanent residents).
