Chesapeake Regional Tech Council Hosts Event at Capitol

Last week, members of the Chesapeake Regional Tech Council visited campus to attend a speech presented by SRI International’s John Sternlicht, and during his visit he detailed the importance of innovation in today’s economy.

Sternlicht addressed pressing issues that affect most organizations, including: creating what customers want, your company’s time to market, defining and developing new products, and fending off competition.

Sternlicht represented SRI International, which has made advances in networking and communications, robotics, drug discovery and development, advanced materials, atmospheric research, education research, economic development, and national security, since 1946.

As the senior director of strategic projects at SRI International since 2007, Sternlicht has provided vision, leadership and strategic direction, while also developing business and marketing opportunities globally. Sternlicht earned his BS from Georgetown University and his JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

Capitol was pleased to welcome such a distinguished guest to speak on campus. Focusing on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), Capitol is committed to offering the most innovative resources to its students, faculty and staff.
