On Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, Capitol College hosted its first alumni class reunion. The class of 1983 returned to campus to celebrate its 30th class reunion. When class of 1983 graduated, from then- Capitol Institute of Technology, the college offered only one degree, Electronic Engineering Technology. The day began with a tour of campus, including long pauses at the various laboratories on campus to talk about the evolution of technology in the past thirty years.

The group visited the newest building, the William G. McGowan Academic Center and received student-tours of the Cyber Battle Lab and the Aerospace Research Lab. Following the tour, lunch was served in the John G. and Beverly A. Puente Library. Associate Director of Development, Rachel Burns, welcomed everyone and spoke about the importance of the legacy alumni leave to the college.

Following Dr. Wood, James Wills, the President of class of 1983, then addressed the group, speaking about his career since graduation, the changes over the decades, and the importance of continuing to support the college. Rachel Burns commented, “It is always fun to meet alumni and update them on their alma mater. The class of 1983 was particularly active class, and this was a great opportunity for them to reconnect. I am looking forward to subsequent reunions.”
