Students Discuss Internships, Employment at BAE Systems

Last week, 15 Capitol undergraduate students visited BAE System’s Washington, D.C. office for the company’s College Mixer. College students from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. were in attendance and had the opportunity to meet and network with various BAE Systems employees.

Those in attendance met with recruiters and discussed career opportunities, learned more about the company’s business sectors and discovered the expectations that new hires at BAE Systems experience. Part-time positions and student internships were also discussed.

BAE Systems is a major international defense, security and aerospace company that employs more than 100,000 people globally. As one of the world’s largest military contractors, the company is a great fit for students looking to apply their technical educations.

“Events like this are important for the Capitol brand,” said George Walls, director of undergraduate recruiting and admissions. “Our students are our product, and for organizations like BAE Systems to see that firsthand, expands opportunity for our students, institution and mission.”

The event was sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and representatives of the organization were also available to discuss career and internship opportunities. NSBE is one of the largest student-governed organizations in the country with nearly 30,000 members and 394 chapters in the U.S.
