At our booth, visitors can meet our president, Dr. Brad Sims, along with our professors Dr. Bill Butler, Dr. Ian McAndrew, Dr. Kellep Charles, and Dr. Rick Hansen, our Admissions team members Bills Gibbs, Aaron Alexander, and Sam Van Sant, and our student volunteers. We will have games, giveaways, and exclusive merchandise like DEF CON 31 t-shirts and our limited-edition collector’s “badges”!

These “badges” are radio and Wi-Fi signal detector devices that were designed and 3D-printed by our own Capitol Tech students under the guidance of our professors Dr. Rick Hansen and Dr. Charles Conner. They light up near any Wi-Fi connected device!

Read more about the history of DEF CON badges and how our students created our very own first editions!

We will also be hosting a networking reception on Friday night, for anyone interested in meeting with our Capitol faculty and other cyber professionals and likeminded peers attending the convention. Winners for our badge photo contest will be announced during this reception.

Keep an eye out as we get closer to the date, as we will continue to share updates and photos. You can help us spread the word by sharing posts about our upcoming trip to DEF CON 31 within your peer groups on social media and consider joining us for this exciting event!

We look forward to seeing you there!
