Government & Military Affiliates

As a leader in information assurance and cyber defense education, Capitol Technology University's student body includes a high percentage of active-duty military and veterans. The university collaborates with government agencies and information security awareness organizations, including:

  • Air University-Associate to Baccalaureate Cooperative (AU-ABC) - Directs Airmen with associate in applied science degrees from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to accredited “military friendly” colleges and universities for completing a four-year degree. The program maximizes the application of military career education and training.

  • National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) - The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security designated Capitol Technology University as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Information Assurance and Cyber Defense Education (CAE-IA/CD). The program is an outreach effort designed by the federal government to reduce vulnerability in the national information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance, and producing professionals with information assurance expertise.

  • Maryland National Guard - Capitol Technology University has formed a partnership with the Maryland National Guard that allows guard members to take up to 12 credit hours per academic year at one-half the full tuition cost. Capitol is the only institution that offers members such a substantial discount on masters and undergraduate programs. Discount does not apply to doctoral programs.

  • Fort Meade Alliance - As a part of the Fort Meade Alliance, Capitol Technology University works together with business and community leaders to promote and support Fort George G. Meade as an economic asset and resource to the region.

  • CyberWatch - A consortium of higher education institutions, businesses, and government agencies in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region that is focused on building and maintaining a stronger information security and assurance workforce. In addition, CyberWatch is committed to improving the quality and increasing the awareness of information security in the education and business communities.

  • U.S. Space Command - Capitol Technology University has been selected for full membership with the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) Academic Engagement Enterprise (AEE) and is working with this agency to foster relationships and collaboration through engaging the future workforce, increasing space applied research and innovation, expanding space-focused analytic partnerships, and enriching the strategic dialogue on space.
